Serbia is the third country in the world to receive approval for the export of hazelnuts to the EU

The European Commission approved the export of hazelnut seedlings to Serbia, which made our country the third country in the world that can export them to the territory of the European Union.

This was announced today by the Ministry of Agriculture.

Serbia received the approval after the implementation of extensive and complex procedures and without any additional requests, and after the EU decision which suspended the import of high-risk plants from all countries in 2019.

This is the second permit that Serbia received individually, after the permit for planting material of apples that was obtained in 2020.

The Ministry expects that in the next period, a permit will be obtained for the export of stone fruit seedlings.

The Ministry notes that the approval for export to the EU is important for Serbian nurseries from the Rasina district, from the territory of Šabac and Zapadnobački district.
